Spotlight on Sophie Morgan

We’re delighted to welcome Sophie Morgan as a VIP for Canine Partners. Sophie is a broadcaster, recently appearing on Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted, as well as an award-winning travel writer, artist and disability rights advocate, famous for using her platform to champion accessibility and inclusion.

I’m absolutely thrilled to become a Canine Partner VIP and use my platform to influence positive change for everyone living with a physical disability and shine a spotlight on the incredible efforts of all the charity’s assistance dogs!

A life shaped by resilience

Aged just 18, Sophie’s entire life changed in an instant when a car accident left her paralysed from the chest down. Since then, Sophie has embarked on an incredible life after injury and built a remarkable television career. She has become an influential and trusted voice in the disability space, sharing honest reflections on independence, identity, and the realities of everyday life as a wheelchair user.

Sharing stories that make a difference

In 2022, Sophie published her memoir, Driving Forwards, which explores her injury, recovery, and the life she has created since. Her story is both personal and powerful, offering readers a thoughtful look at how confidence and purpose can grow through change.

Supporting life-changing partnerships

Sophie’s support will help us shine a light on the difference an expertly trained assistance dog can make for disabled people and their families.

For more than 35 years, Canine Partners has been creating loving, life-changing partnerships between disabled people and dogs trained to support their individual needs, personality and lifestyle.

Canine Partners’ partnerships break down barriers that exclude disabled people from everyday life, opening the doors to independence both in and outside of the home, providing practical support with everyday tasks and helping them navigate the world.

The beautiful dogs bring confidence and independence, love and companionship, reducing reliance on carers and giving people the freedom to live life their own way.
